Covid-19: Portugal Cancels all Summer Festivals

Instead of waiting for action, the Government took already the decision of cancelling every single event planned in Portuguese for the coming months.

This measure covers all iconic festivals: Rock in Rio, NOS Alive, Boom, Sudoeste, Super Bock Superock etc. The decision, although announced last Thursday, was expected by promoters, artists and fans since the beginning of the outbreak.

The decision was taken in the first Council of Ministers since the end of the State of Emergency.

The Government added that all those who have purchased tickets for events that would take place up till September 30, will have guaranteed entrance whenever the events happen.

“For shows that would take place between February 28 and September 30 and that were cancelled due to the pandemic, vouchers will be issued with the same value as the price of the unused ticket, guaranteed all the consumer’s rights” says the statement issued by the Council.

However, the text does not clarify how these vouchers will work, or how the client can acquire them.
