Sand Sculpture Festival begins on June 8

The famous International Fiesa Festival will open doors on June 8, in Armação da Pêra

The International Sand Sculpture Festival is a popular event held every year in Pera, Algarve between June and October.

This year the festival will begin on Saturday, June 8. The topic for this Summer is a trip around the world, showcasing sand renditions of the most famous buildings in our planet.

The festival offers visitors the unique opportunity to wander amongst the giant, life-like sculptures during the day. At night, the sculptures are lit up and projections of previous events are also shown on them. Many of the sand sculptures come in different sizes and shapes, from giant animals to famous landmarks.

There are also a variety of workshops where you can learn how to create your own masterpiece made out of sand.
