Dredging in Santa Luzia removes 7 tons of garbage from the ria

The dredging operation, led by Docapesca, of the maritime access to the floating dock of the Santa Luzia fishing port, in Tavira, has already been concluded and allowed the removal of about 7 tons of garbage from the Ria Formosa.

The works, which led to an investment of around 150 thousand euros, allow the restoration of safety, navigability and parking conditions for fishermen’s boats.

The waste that was removed was sent for treatment in a dump. The sand collected will be used to feed Terra Estreita beach.

Docapesca has been recently criticized due to the garbage that appeared in the coast of Ilha Deserta (Cabanas), which was associated with the dredging carried out by this company on the Rio Gilão.
